A Quick Takeaway From The NFL Combine and the Dallas Cowboys
Working in the outside sales space (or sales in general for that matter), business professionals are constantly looking for fresh personnel to improve their team’s ability to execute. While doing so, we sometimes forget the importance of simply leveraging our established veterans and how it leads to the greater good for the organization – as well as the recruit. Connections, knowledge, experience, and a helping hand is often the easiest and best way to move aspiring new additions forward and, of course, improve your chances of building a sales team that drives results.
Let us first put this thought in motion. It’s okay to be a Cowboy fan in Houston. Heck! It’s okay to be a Cowboy fan period!
After the Eagles pull the victory of the century at the Super Bowl this past February these are very dark days for us Cowboy fans. But optimism is the key and in the Spring, we can start fresh.
So even though the new season doesn’t start until March 14, the NFL Scouting Combine is truly when the league fully turns its back on 2017 and toward 2018. You don’t have to guess that Dallas Cowboys will be one of the busier teams in Indianapolis.
On top of analyzing the 300-plus prospects who have descended on Lucas Oil Stadium, the Cowboys will be focused on contract negotiations with their own free agents as well.
According to Dallas Morning News reporter Jon Machota, Head coach Jason Garrett side stepped several questions concerning the future of Dez Bryant when he spoke with media at the NFL scouting combine this week. Garrett said, “We have a tremendous amount of love for Dez Bryant. He’s been a great player for us for a long time.”
When asked the follow-up, whether Garrett would like to see Bryant remain in Dallas, he replied that the team has not discussed roster decisions.
That is very difficult for us fans to believe or accept. How can the Cowboys take time off when you haven’t won the Super Bowl in 20 years!!
On the discussion of other veterans … Zack Martin will also be having key meetings with ownership and the coaches.. Martin should become the highest-paid guard in the NFL in the near future. Martin and the Dallas Cowboys have expressed interest in reaching a long-term deal sooner than later, and the two sides are expected to meet this week at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Building A Sales Team, That Wins!
Developing that team synergy between new and seasoned (especially in working with remote field sales reps) is imperative to building a sales team that is successful. Increasing revenue is driven by a company’s ability to bring in new professionals, while also mentoring veteran players so that they become true leaders is key. Moreover, reducing employee attrition will make a world of difference for companies looking to establish roles and systems, while also lowering operating costs and driving growth quickly. So develop fast and try to keep your talent! The beauty of this wonderful experiment is it’s a living document. You can continue to improve and make changes as you go down your path to success.
So let’s see what happens after the Combines for us die hard Cowboy fans. We need team synergy now ..we can’t wait another 20 years to get to the top.
